As the lead guitarist of progressive metallers Between the Buried and Me, Paul Waggoner is known for his unrelenting playing style that fuses together his influences drawn from metal, prog rock, and jazz. Who better to work with when creating his signature model than Ibanez, the very same company who worked closely with one of his biggest influences, Steve Vai. The Ibanez PWM10 Paul Waggoner Signature Electric Guitar in Black is testament to what can be achieved when great minds come together to create something truly sublime.

          Sleek Double-Cutaway Body

In keeping with Waggoner's wishes, the body is shaped to an exceptionally slim depth to make it very easy to perform with during long touring schedules night after night. The guitar's strength is assured thanks to the incredibly strong, but also very lightweight ash. Favoured for its bright highs, sweeping lows, and scooped midrange, ash produces a forceful sonic blast that is perfect for accommodating Waggoner's eclectic playing style. The natural grain of the ash shines through the black transparent finish beautifully.

          Wizard III 3-Piece Maple/Bubinga Neck

To facilitate a fast and free playing-feel, Ibanez has employed their Wizard III neck profile across the three-piece maple/bubinga neck. Built with durability, stability and resonance in mind, the neck feels exceptionally comfortable, enabling your hand to glide along with ease. Paired with the neck is a luxurious rosewood fingerboard, which is home to 24 jumbo frets that are adorned with off-set white dot position inlays.

          Jake Bowen Signature Pickups

Waggoner's signature model wouldn't be complete without his signature Mojotone PW Hornet humbucking pickups, fitted in the neck and bridge positions. The ""PW Hornet"" humbucker is specially designed to provide a full range of tonal options to access that cover the entire spectrum of Waggoner's live sound. Whether you're seeking searing leads with a robust presence, but want to pass on the muddiness, or want clean tones that are ringing with a brilliant clarity, everything you desire is at your fingertips. Thanks to the built-in coil-tap functionality, the range of tones on ever is expanded further.

The control layout is quite simple, allowing you to get on with playing your heart out. There is a master volume pot, a 3-way pickup selector switch, and a coil tap switch. Simple, but highly versatile.

          Gig-Ready Hardware

To meet the demands of Waggoner's uncompromising playing style, Ibanez has equipped the body with the Edge-Zero II tremolo bridge. The beauty of this locking tremolo system is that it keeps your strings securely fixed, whilst allowing you to perform some serious gymnastics with the tremolo arm from deep dives to wailing highs. Adjustment of string action can be done with the greatest of ease, and string tension is delightfully simple too. The headstock is home to cosmo tuning machines that work alongside the nut and trem system to uphold tuning integrity and string tension precisely. Ibanez has ensured that no matter what happens during a good, all the control you need is at your fingertips.
