The bolted on neck is made using high quality maple and is shaped to a GRG profile that allows for an incredibly fast and fluid playing experience. The neck also plays home to a rosewood fingerboard complete with 24 frets and white dot positional inlays.

The headstock of the GRG121SP-BKN is completed in black to match the body and is in a familiar and sharp Gio shape. The excellent quality tuners are finished in black to match the rest of the hardware.

To give the GRG121SP-BKN the ability to create fat rhythm tones and screaming leads that will cut through the mix, Ibanez have fitted 2 Infinity R pickups, one in the bridge position and one in the neck position. A full pickup switching system and tone and volume controls are here too so that you have complete control over your sound.

Ok, we can't skirt around the issue any more... That pickguard! In stark contrast to the sharp black finish, Ibanez have fitted what they describe as a Panther pickguard. For some this may not appeal, but to others, this makes a superb addition to this already full-character electric guitar.
