AEW BODY AND EXOTIC TONEWOOD

The Ibanez AEW series uses a combination of innovative techniques and exotic tonewoods to create and develop outstanding acoustic guitars to appeal to the masses. In this case, Ibanez have chosen to implement zebrawood in the body top, back and sides of the guitar. Zebrawood has a very distinguished appearance in that it bears a resemblance to the stripes of a zebra, hence the name.

However as a guitar tonewood, it also provides you with a wide range of definitive tonal qualities with ample volume, precisely what you want from any acoustic guitar.

Securely joined to the zebrawood body is a mahogany neck which has a satin finish to improve the overall playing feel. Married to the neck is a rosewood 20-fret fingerboard decorated with maple dot inlays to guide you with confidence up and down the frets.

IBANEZ PREAMP

The AEW Zebrawood guitar has been fitted with Ibanez AEQ-SP2 electronics to enable you to hear the acoustic output perfectly translated through an amplifier. A Fishman Sonicore pickup sits snugly beneath the soundboard to boost your volume and tone. The AEQ-SP2 preamp is easy to use with bass, treble and volume controls. It also includes a handy onboard tuner so you never have to worry about retuning the strings.

HARDWARE AND FINISH

Chrome die-cast tuners with black keys are firmly fitted to headstock for you to accurately retune your guitar whenever you need to, along with the guidance of the onboard tuner.

To complement the stunning, natural zebrawood finish, Ibanez have also added a maple rosette around the soundhole as well as multi wood binding.
