Ibanez have proudly introduced the SRH500F from their SR series, and this is a semi-hollowbody fretless outfit to adore. Built using high quality tonewoods to the classic SR shape, this bass guitar is founded with playability and comfort at the forefront. The SRH500F-NNF (natural browned burst flat) is stylish and striking, offering an authentic, unique semi-hollowbody model with the sublime playing feel of a fretless.

Body

The SRH500F features a slick deep double cutaway body using spruce as the top and mahogany in the back. This tonewood combination produces a well-balanced, warm timbre. The spruce top has a special elbow cut to allow your arm to rest in a perfect playing position, thus reducing fatigue. The prominent feature of the body is its semi-hollow design with the F-style cutout in the top. This design enables the natural tone of the SRH500F to flow in and around the 55mm-thick semi-hollowbody and up through the cutout hole for a resonant output.

Neck

Ibanez have fitted a 5-piece Jatoba and Bubinga neck to the bass via a contoured deep neck joint. The neck has a slim, fast profile for performing riffs and complex note patterns. The neck is paired with a bound rosewood fingerboard, which is fretless for a fast and smooth playing feel, but Ibanez have included offset white dot inlays to guide your way. The fingerboard is extended on the lower register, making for a convenient finger rest.

Piezo Pickup

Ibanez have employed an AeroSilk piezo pickup to amplify the natural semi-hollowbody tones of the SRH500F. This pickup system ensures perfect string balance and response, while the Tone and Volume controls keep it simple when making sonic adjustments. The AeroSilk piezo system offers a dynamic response to any playing style.

Hardware

The lower bout of the body is fitted with a custom bridge designed specifically to collaborate with the AeroSilk piezo system. String spacing at the bridge is at 19mm for the ideal string isolation, ensuring genuine playing comfort. The headstock is fitted with sturdy, reliable tuning machines that uphold tuning integrity with precision.
