Body

Ibanez have selected a stunning ash tonewood to construct the entire body of the SR655. Ash contributes to the bass guitar's rich, full-bodied tone, allowing the sound to ring out with total clarity. The body has a double cutaway shape which makes it easier to reach every fret on the neck. The body comes in an eye-catching Antique Brown Stained finish complete with black matte hardware.

Neck

For a sturdy, smooth feel, Ibanez have selected 5-piece Jatoba and Bubinga to craft the SR5-style neck. The neck has a comfortable, thin profile to facilitate a faster playing technique, while the extended neck joint enhances the overall playing feel entirely. Topping the neck is a rosewood fingerboard which hosts 24 medium frets decorated with abalone oval inlays.

Electronics

In the neck position Ibanez have employed a Nordstrand CND P pickup accompanied by a Nordstrand CND J pickup in the bridge position. This classic P/J pickup duo offers a huge range of versatile tones, packed with a punch while the J pickup brings a more subtle single-coil edge. Controls include Ibanez Custom Electronics with a 3-band EQ and EQ bypass switch, providing you with an incredible level of precise tone control, including the option to choose passive-only operation with the treble control pot.

Hardware

To maintain a firm connection between the strings and body while ensuring the ideal amount of string spacing, an Accu-cast B305 bridge is fitted to the lower bout of the body. The headstock is fitted with dependable tuning machines in a black matte finish.
