The SR650 is an excellent electric bass guitar from the Ibanez SR standard line. Constructed using exquisite tonewoods and set up with premium hardware and appointments, the SR650 is a joy to play. The bass comes in an authentic Antique Brown Stained finish which shows off the beautiful, natural appearance of the wood.

Body

The SR650 retains that deep double cutaway body profile and uses ash as the body tonewood. Ash offers a strong bass attack while ensuring a crystal clear output. The natural grains of the ash body come through beautifully in the Antique Brown Stained finish while the black matte hardware offers a neat visual aesthetic.

Neck

Firmly fitted to the body is an exotic SR4 neck made from 5-piece Jatoba and Bubinga. The neck has a comfortable profile, feeling thin but stable in the hand. The neck also has an extended joint, which along with the double cutaway body allows complete access to all 24 medium frets on the rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard features decorative abalone oval inlays to guide you.

Electronics

In order to amplify the SR650 bass, Ibanez have employed a Nordstrand CND P pickup in the neck position and a Nordstrand CND J pickup in the bridge position. This pickup combination produces a wide range of versatile tones and is accompanied by tone controls which allow you to make even the most subtle of tweaks. Ibanez Custom Electronics with a 3-band EQ and EQ bypass switch give you an incredible level of precise tone control, including the option to choose passive-only operation.

Hardware

For improved sustain and intonation, the lower bout of the body is fitted with an Accu-cast B300 bridge. The bridge provides the ideal amount of string isolation, while the hard-wearing tuners at the headstock all work to maintain tuning accuracy while you play.

With a classic range of P and J bass-style tones made possible by the onboard electronics setup, the SR650 has a lot to offer.
