The SR1400 is the first Premium SR bass guitar with a gloss finish on a stunning figured maple top. In a striking Mojito Lime Green finish, the SR1400 is constructed from beautiful, exotic tonewoods for exceptional sound quality and durability. This Premium Bass maintains the quintessential Ibanez SR shape and is gig-ready from the moment it is taken out of the box.
Body
The SR1400 has a sleek, deep double cutaway body allowing full access to all the frets on offer. Ibanez have chosen figured maple for the body top which has a unique sound and appearance. Working with the figured maple is mahogany in the back and sides, adding depth and warmth to the low end while the top wood ensures a clear attack.
Neck
An Atlas-4 neck constructed from five pieces of Wenge and Bubinga tonewood is firmly joined to the body. The neck has a slim profile which has a comfortable grip, drastically improving the overall playing feel. Further strengthening the neck are the KTS TITANIUM reinforcement rods, producing more sustain as you play. The neck is topped with 24 medium-size frets on a rosewood fingerboard which features Premium Fret Edge treatment. This treatment involves the luthiers at Ibanez meticulously hand-rolling the fingerboard edges for a much more comfortable playing feel. The frets host avalone oval dot inlays as a decorative guide.
Electronics
Amplifying the SR1400 is a powerful pair of Nordstrand ""Big Single"" pickups employed in the neck and bridge positions. These superb soap-bar pickups provide plenty of tonal power and aggression all with absolute clarity.
Controls consist of Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band EQ, EQ bypass, and a 3-way midfrequency switch (250 Hz, 450 Hz and 700 Hz). The treble-tone control knob can be transformed into passive tone control when the bypass switch is activated allowing you to adjust the output.
Hardware
Ibanez have fitted a Mono-Rail V bridge to the lower bout of the body, an excellent piece of kit that ensures perfect string isolation on the SR1400 bass. The bridge has been securely locked down to provide maximum vibration transfer with very little to no interference. Other great hardware appointments include reliable Gotoh machine heads for ultimate tuning accuracy, while a Black Tusq XL nut works well to maintain tuning integrity.
The eye-catching Mojito Lime Green finish is complemented by gold hardware, and for long-lasting protection the SR1400 is supplied with a soft case.
