The Ibanez AE-500 is designed with versatility and quality at its forefront, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of varying guitarists. Built using a great range of tonewoods and innovative techniques, the AE-500 is a stunning electro acoustic model.

Body

The AE series offers a well-balanced sound output and this is down to a combination of tonewood and the AE body shape. A solid Sitka spruce top is accompanied by Indian rosewood in the back and sides, producing a full-bodied acoustic output across the frequencies, and all with superb clarity. The body is strengthened by scalloped X bracing and Tone Projection back bracing, offering great playability and support. From deep lows to sparkling highs, the AE-500 can lend itself to a wide range of musical genres and playing styles.

Neck

The AE-500 features a mahogany neck with a 400mm radius and a comfortable playing profile. Whether your preference is fingerpicking or playing complex chord patterns, the rosewood fingerboard offers a sumptuous playing surface. The 20-fret fingerboard is decorated with beautiful, specially-designed Mother of Pearl inlays to guide you. Full fret access is provided thanks to the single body cutaway.

Electronics

The AE-500 sounds wonderful whether played out as it is, or plugged into your desired amplifier thanks to the onboard Ibanez custom electronics. An Ibanez T-bar under-saddle pickup takes the guitar's true, natural tones and translates them effectively through an amp. Fitted with an AGP10 preamp, you have total tone control over the AE-500 thanks to a 5-band EQ, notch filter and phase reverse, providing expert sound clarity and keeping feedback to a minimum. The onboard preamp allows you to plug into an amp, mixing console or PA system, all with low-noise connectivity but offering great headroom thanks to its full analog circuit which has a 9V to 18V internal booster.

Hardware and Finish

The AE-500 will ensure tuning accuracy thanks to the Gotoh chrome SG301 tuners fitted to the headstock with 18:1 gear ratio. Sustain is well-enhanced due to the partnership of the rosewood bridge and the strings, while the bone nut and compensated 4mm bone saddle further uphold tuning integrity.

The AE-500 comes in a neat, natural finish with an abalone and maple soundhole rosette and tortoiseshell pickguard for a protective yet decorative aesthetic.
