The 2018 Hummingbird Avant Garde is shaped to the classic square-shoulder dreadnought body that has ensnared the hearts of many a player. Known for its impressive output, the body is comfortable in the hands whilst guaranteeing a robust and energetic timbre. The body back is crafted using redwood, which gives it a hearty midrange punch with plenty of warmth. The top is built from Sitka spruce, a lightweight tonewood that resonates freely to project tones gleefully. Reinforced using traditional hand scalloped X-bracing, you can rest assured that your guitar will remain in top condition no matter how enthusiastically you perform.

The antique natural finish is subtle yet beautiful, and complemented beautifully by the accompanying tortoise pickguard. Multi-ply binding accentuates the contrast between the top and sides, whilst a resilient nitrocellulose lacquer coating prevents blemishes from affecting the tonewoods.

Solid neck design

Connected to the body via a compound dovetail neck-to-body joint, is a sturdy and reliable mahogany neck.
