Thinner than modern lacquers, the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer used on the Fender Classic Series '60s Jazz Bass Lacquer allows the body to vibrate more freely, to offer more resonance, and therefore a more natural tone. Along with the tonal benefits, the finish is also known to age better, to give a pleasing vintage-look over time.

Construction

Along with the gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, the offset alder body of the Fender Classic Series '60s Jazz Bass Lacquer is finished in a three-tone sunburst, and accompanied by a four-ply brown shell pickguard.

Bolted to this is a thin, and supremely playable, C-shaped maple neck, which also benefits from the being coated in gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Atop this is a 7.25""-radius rosewood fingerboard with 20 vintage-style frets and white-dot inlays, which lies between a synthetic bone nut and a four-saddle American Vintage Bass bridge.

Completing the vintage style look of the Fender Classic Series '60s Jazz Bass Lacquer is a set of Vintage-Style reverse tuners, strap buttons, 4-bolt neck plate, and truss rod nut, right down to the pair of Standard Vintage Alnico Magnet Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups, which are controlled easily with a master tone control and independent volume controls for the neck and bridge.
