The CC-140SCE is shaped to the concert body profile, which offers a smaller and more comfortable shape for beginners to get used to. The thinner body depth also gives the guitar a more intimate, well-balanced tone than that of a dreadnought, with a slight emphasis on the upper mids to deliver a sparkling timbre - perfect for both fingerpickers and strummers.

The body is built using a combination of tonewoods with rosewood adopted for the back and sides, and solid spruce for the top. Rosewood generates a confident midrange energy, whilst spruce offers an articulate and crisp high-end clarity. The top is reinforced using quartersawn scalloped ""X"" bracing, which enables the soundboard to move freely but prevents unwanted buckling or warping of the top over time.

The contoured body shape allows the guitar to rest comfortable against your body whether performing in a standing or seated position. As with all Classic Design models, the CC-140SCE is perfect for taking on the road, making it a superb model for hitting the stage with.

Solid Mahogany Neck

Fitted to the body is a solid mahogany neck, which offers a sturdy support to running your fretting hand along. Along the edge of the neck you'll find single-ply black binding to guarantee seamless transitions between each and every fret. Shaped to Fender's 'Easy-to-Play' neck profile, both new players and seasoned pros will appreciate the ergonomically designed comfort afforded by this shape.

Married to the neck is a gorgeous 20-fret rosewood fingerboard, which is adorned with 3mm pearloid dot position inlays to guide your way in understated style. The 12-inch fingerboard radius is perfect for executing smooth string bends on, as well as offering an ideal playground for perfecting your technique on. Thanks to the cutaway body profile, the upper frets on the neck are within easy reach.

Fishman Presys Plus Preamp System

Fender has equipped the CC-140SCE with Fishman's Presys Plus side-mounted preamp system. Whether you're amplifying your signal for the stage, hitting the studio, or jamming with friends, the onboard electronics allows you to be heard, whilst retaining the acoustic timbre of the body.

The control layout is very simple to use but offers powerful tone control if you want to affect any changes. The options available to you are: Volume, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Phase. A useful built-in tuner keeps you on the right track, and a handy battery indicator light lets you know when you're ready for a change.

Hardware

To ensure that the feel and consistency across the guitar remains flawless, Fender have included Graph Tech's NuBone nut to ensure the strings remain in position at the top of the neck. Chrome die-cast tuning machines uphold tuning integrity firmly throughout every performance. The body is fitted with a rosewood bridge, which creates a seamless connection between the strings and body to optimise intonation and sustain.

Great care has been taken to ensure that all the finishing touches perfectly complement the mahogany finish and complete the guitar to a high standard. The body and neck have both received a gloss finish, giving a subtle yet protective layer to the tonewood for durability against rubbing whilst performing.
