The body is shaped to the dreadnought cutaway profile, a design that is revered for its impressive power generating abilities, and the ease with which it enables players to reach the upper frets. The body is built using laminated mahogany - back and sides -, which is paired with a laminated spruce top. The dreadnought shape loves mahogany, as they both work wonderfully together to create a dense, richly textured and powerful timbre. The spruce is excellent as the top, as its incredibly resonant qualities allows it to project the energy created in the body with ease - making it a fantastic soundboard. Not only that, but spruce has a sparkling mid to high character that softens the tonality of the bass. Scalloped X bracing reinforces the top, in order to ensure it is a strong as possible, whilst allowing it to resonate freely.

Fender necks are amongst the most delightful to play, and the CB-100CE's mahogany neck with classic ""C""-shape profile is just right. The satin finish allows you to glide along it freely without a tackiness or stickiness from affecting your movement. The 34"" scale length is fantastic for string resonance and sustain, and is great for executing speedy runs. Married to the neck is a well-proportioned 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, with a 12"" radius that is a dream for executing seamless string bends.

The CB-100CE can be played unplugged and acoustically, but it also comes fitted with a Fishman Isys III preamp and pickup that enables you to plug in and play through an amp. Not only that but the electronics setup has a built-in tuner too.
