Bringing you the brand new Telecaster from Fender,s American Special series for you to experience the true sound of the USA. Since 1946, Fender have been expert craftsmen when it comes to building incredible electric guitars and this is still the case today. The Fender American Special Telecaster in striking Lake Placid Blue possesses all of the qualities that have made so many guitarists choose Fender over the years, while it also integrates some new, enhanced appointments for a fantastic all-round instrument.

          Classic Tele Body

In keeping with Fender heritage, the American Special Telecaster has the single-cutaway design in the body frame which has been tried and tested for years, hence why it is still so popular today. The body is constructed using alder tonewood which is known for its lightweight feel. Alder makes for a tonally balanced wood and offers extraordinary articulation. The shape of the Tele gives it a real, natural feel when you play it (whether standing or sitting), and it looks the part thanks to a subtle but protective layer of gloss urethane which keeps the Lake Placid Blue finish at its best for as long as possible.

          Smooth Maple Neck

Fitted to the alder body of the Telecaster is a 25.5 inch scale length maple neck. The neck offers maximum stability which is matched by uncomplicated playability which is further improved by the single cutaway design that allows for easy access to the higher frets. The neck has a modern ""C""profile and a smooth satin finish so you can glide up and down comfortably. When sliding along the neck you will notice it has 22 jumbo frets decorated with white dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard that has a truly luxurious feel. The size of the frets give you a better grip on the strings so you can bend them or strum out with clarity.

          Texas Special Pickups

The American Special Telecaster is fitted with two Texas Special single-coil pickups which give this model its SS configuration. The Texas Special pickups have been overwound which in turn helps them to project that Texas style blues sound with a tight bass, robust midrange and sparkling highs. Powered by Alnico 5 magnets, these pickups give a balanced but energetic output. Furthermore, Fender have incorporated Greasebucket Tone Circuit control into this Telecaster which allows treble to be rolled off without adding bass, and the end product is completely coherent.

A 3-way pickup selector switch enables you to select each pickup independently, or combinations of each. You can explore a whole world of tonality by switching between the neck and bridge pickups.

          Gig-Ready Hardware

The body of the American Special Telecaster carries the 3-saddle American vintage strings-through-body Tele bridge with brass saddles which has an open feel but a firm connection between the strings and body. The headstock is equipped with Fender standard cast / sealed tuning machines that keep each string in tune throughout every performance. The body top is protected around the pickups and control pots by a stylish 3-ply mint green pickguard which gives the Telecaster a dazzling finish.

Fender have included a deluxe gig bag and a polishing cloth with this American Special Tele so that you can protect your axe when you,re on the road whilst keeping it in pristine condition as the years go by.
