Crafted using alder, a lightweight and tonally balanced wood, this Strat is one of the most comfortable guitars to hit the stage with. The elegantly shaped contours ensure that the body sits snugly during performances to create a natural feel. As noted, the body is built using solid and reliable alder, a tonally balanced wood that Fender have used since the 1950s due to its delicately balanced tonality. The finish has a protective layer of gloss urethane that ensures the Sonic Blue paintwork is preserved for as long as possible.

Slender Maple Neck

Fitted to the body is a sleek single-piece maple neck, which is designed with speed, precision and comfortability at its core. Shaped to the modern ""C"" neck profile, you can glide along its 25.5"" scale length with the greatest of ease. Married to the neck is a rosewood fingerboard, complete with 22 jumbo frets that are adorned with dot position inlays to guide your way. Thanks to the classic double-cutaway Strat body profile, each and every fret is readily accessible, giving you unrivalled freedom to explore the neck in its entirety. The maple/rosewood combination guarantees that your tones are infused with the utmost articulation for accurate representation of your technique.

Texas Special Pickups with Greasebucket Circuitry

The American Special Strat is powered by a triple-threat of Texas Special Strat single-coil pickups. Designed to deliver tones with power and precision, anything and everything you can imagine is catered to from country to hard rock.

Control over the pickups comes in the form of a 5-way pickup selector switch, enabling you to select each pickup independently, or combinations of each. If you want fat, swelling mids, rumbling lows or searing highs, between the three pickups you have access to a universe of tones to explore. The neck and bridge pickups each have individual tone pots with Greasebucket Tone Circuitry - this means that when you roll back the dial, you can level off the high frequencies without reinforcing or adding low-end tone, resulting in a much tighter sounding output.

Gig-Ready Hardware

The body carries the 6-saddle vintage-style tremolo bridge, which creates a seamless connection between the strings and body for maximum playing stability, offers greater intonation, and allows you to add subtle vibrato whenever you wish. The large '70s-style headstock carries Fender standard cast/sealed tuning machines that keep each string held steadfast throughout the most energetic of performances. The body top is protected around the pickups and control pots by a stylish 3-ply mint green pickguard.
