The Fender Telecaster Thinline was first introduced in the late 60s and initially was a way in which to relieve some of the body weight of the guitar thanks to the cutaway in the body. With a striking Natural, open grain finish, the American Elite Tele Thinline is as aesthetically pleasing on the eye as it is to pick up and play.

SEMI-HOLLOW ASH BODY

Unlike the conventional Telecaster, the American Elite Tele Thinline has a semi-hollow ash body construction. By having a semi-hollow body, this provides you with a wealth of varying tones, giving you the best of both worlds between a hollow body and a solid body. Ash is the tonewood of choice for the American Elite Tele Thinline thanks to its natural colouring and lightweight feel. This also contributes to an incredibly resonant, balanced tone.

To keep that natural finish protected, Fender apply a gloss polyurethane layer to the body to retain the colouring for years to come.

MAPLE NECK AND FINGERBOARD

A steadfast neck constructed of maple is securely joined to the American Elite Telecaster Thinline and is given a satin urethane finish, offering a smooth playing feel. The maple neck offsets beautifully from the Natural body colour. Fender have improved the neck heel on the American Elite series guitars, its curved shape combined with the single cutaway body allows for easy access to upper frets. The maple neck is contoured to have a modern ""C""to ""D""profile with a compound back shape which enables you to play effortlessly.

Fender have also chosen maple to construct the fingerboard and it is allocated with 22 medium jumbo frets for you to revel in. Decorating the frets are large black pearloid dots, guiding you from one to the next with confidence. A heel-mounted spoke wheel is fitted at the bottom of the fingerboard where it meets the body to allow you to adjust the neck relief should you need to.

4TH GENERATION NOISELESS PICKUPS

A new and innovative feature of the American Elite series of guitars is the addition of 4th Generation Noiseless pickups fitted at the neck and bridge positions. The 4th Generation Noiseless pickups are carefully designed to give you a crystal clear sound, cutting out any unwanted ""humming""or noise that is sometimes generated during a live performance.

The American Elite Tele Thinline has a 3-way toggle control switch allowing you to change from one pickup to the other or combine the two. The Master Volume has an S-1 push switch, and works alongside the Master No-Load tone to help shape your overall sound output.

HARDWARE AND FINISH

The Fender American Elite Telecaster Thinline is fitted with a New Elite Suspension bridge with three intonatable brass saddles. The screwless mount design means that you have much more vibration transfer, an almost constant sustain, and a dynamic, bold response.

The headstock has a striking black chrome Fender logo and is fitted with deluxe cast sealed locking tuners, all with short posts, to uphold tuning integrity.

Fender include a redesigned Elite Molded Case with TSA locks to protect your much adored guitar on the road.
