The Telecaster has been an incredibly popular Fender model over the years, being favoured by artists such as Bruce Springsteen and George Harrison. However, Fender have released a new series of extremely limited models and this includes the wonderful American Professional Mahogany Telecaster Deluxe ShawBucker. Unlike any other Tele, this uses wood saved after Hurricane Mitch and pairs it with high quality hardware for a lavish playing feel and rich sound.

Body

Retaining the single slope cutaway, the Limited Edition Tele offers full access to even the higher registers of the neck. Fender are keen to look after the environment wherever possible, and that's precisely what makes this Telecaster as deluxe as its name suggests. The American Pro Tele Deluxe ShawBucker has a body constructed entirely of Honduran Mahogany which was rescued after the devastating Hurricane Mitch struck. This wood has weathered not just a storm but a hurricane, and so Fender know that it is certain to withstand the test of time. The mahogany produces a great range of warm, rich tones while its sourcing makes this a collector's dream.

Neck

A mahogany neck is firmly fitted to the Honduran mahogany body and shaped to the comfortable modern ""Deep C"" profile. This is topped with a 9.5 inch radius rosewood fingerboard which has 22 narrow tall frets to explore, and their sizing makes it even easier to perform string bends accurately.

ShawBucker Pickups

The Limited Edition Telecaster Deluxe has been fitted with a superb pair of fat-sounding ShawBucker humbucking pickups. Rather than using single-coil pickups, Fender have selected a ShawBucker 1T in the neck position and a ShawBucker 2T in the bridge position for a richer, more powerful tone. The ShawBuckers have been specifically voiced for their individual positions on the body to transfer the stunning tones from the guitar's all-mahogany body.

Controls consist of two Tone knobs and two Volume controls which feature a treble-bleed circuit to allow ownership over clearer high end tones. A three-position toggle allows you to switch between or blend the pickups together for a varied sound.

Hardware

The beautiful Crimson Red Transparent body colour is complemented with top quality nickel/chrome hardware. The bridge has a 6-saddle strings-through-body Strat hardtail with bent steel saddles to enhance sustain and intonation of this Deluxe Telecaster. The headstock features Fender standard cast/sealed staggered tuning machines for ultimately reliable retuning accuracy.
