For over six decades the Fender Stratocaster has been considered one of the world's most highly-revered electric guitars. With an iconic sound and shape, the 2017 American Professional Stratocaster HH Shawbucker brings this classic model to life. With some contemporary, new appointments onboard, the American Pro is designed to appeal to old and new players alike.

Body

As with many Fender Strats of previous years, alder has been selected to construct the body of the American Pro HH Shawbucker edition. A solid, durable tonewood, alder contributes to the quintessential Strat sound while ensuring a comfortable playing feel against your body. The body is given a gloss polyurethane overcoat that protects the beautiful paint finish.

A recognisable feature that is maintained in the American Professional Stratocaster is the double cutaway body shape. This profile facilitates access to every fret on the neck, while its lightweight feel makes it even easier to wield.

Neck

A smooth 25.5 inch scale length maple neck is firmly joined to the body and has a satin urethane finish at the back. The neck has been shaped to the comfortable Modern ""Deep C"" profile which feels like bliss as you maneuver your way along. The neck is topped with a luxurious rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5 inch radius. The fingerboard is the home of 22 narrow-tall frets, providing you with a generous spacing to execute complex chords and string bends at your leisure. To guide you with confidence, Fender have decorated the frets with white dot position inlays that stand out against the dark rosewood background.

Shawbuckers

Unlike any other regular Strat, the American Professional model is equipped with a pair of hot Shawbucker humbucking pickups, with a Shawbucker 1 in the neck position and a Shawbucker 2 fitted in the bridge. There is not one single coil pickup in sight, which in turn means this pickup duo has a much higher gain output with plenty of sustain.

The 2017 American Pro Strat is kitted out with a new, innovative two tone control setup which also features a Master Volume with treble-bleed circuitry. The 5-position pickup switch blade is better than ever; you can choose to select the sound of just the inner or outer coils of the pickups for an incredibly delicate tone. The pickups have been given their own unique voicing, so you have access to a whole universe of diverse, nuanced tones.

Hardware

Fender have fitted a 2-point synchronised tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles and pop-in arm to the lower bout of the body. With this, you can effortlessly perform perfect string bends like some of the most famous Fender Strat players over the years. The addition of a bone nut and Fender standard cast/sealed staggered tuning machines on the headstock ensure tuning remains firmly in place, while string spacing also remains accurate.

The body is protected against scratches thanks to a 3-ply pickguard, while the nickel/chrome hardware completes the look. Fender supply an Elite molded guitar case to store, protect or carry this beautiful Stratocaster wherever you are.
